PT RNT Utama Indonesia’s Commitment to Guaranteeing the Safety and Legality of Crew Members on Foreign Vessels

PT RNT Utama Indonesia’s Commitment to Guaranteeing the Safety and Legality of Crew Members on Foreign Vessels

The international maritime industry is increasingly open to Indonesian workers. Thousands of seafarers (ABK) from across the country depart each year to work on foreign-flagged vessels in pursuit of livelihoods and a better future for their families. However, behind this opportunity lies significant challenges: illegal recruitment practices, unpaid wages, and the lack of legal protection for workers who go abroad through unofficial channels.

In this context, the presence of official manning agencies such as PT RNT Utama Indonesia is crucial. With a strong commitment, PT RNT Utama Indonesia ensures that every deployed seafarer is not only physically and mentally prepared but also protected legally, administratively, and under international law.

Legality is the cornerstone of safe and professional maritime employment. Seafarers who are deployed through illegal channels are highly vulnerable to risks, including:

  • Labor exploitation, with excessive working hours and no protection.
  • Unpaid wages or unilateral deductions by illegal brokers.
  • Absence of legal protection, due to the lack of a valid contract.
  • Administrative difficulties, for example, in the event of a workplace accident abroad.

Such cases often tarnish Indonesia’s reputation internationally and cause suffering for many families. For this reason, PT RNT Utama Indonesia emphasizes that the legal pathway is the only safe way for seafarers to work on foreign vessels.

As an officially licensed agency under Indonesian regulations, PT RNT Utama Indonesia acts as a bridge between Indonesian youth seeking maritime careers abroad and international fishing fleets in need of quality crew members.

The company’s main focus is not merely on placement, but also on the long-term protection and well-being of every seafarer. This commitment is reflected through a strict selection process, complete legal documentation, and ongoing support throughout their contracts.

To guarantee the safety and legality of each seafarer’s departure, PT RNT Utama Indonesia implements a series of protective measures:

1. Document and Contract Verification

Every seafarer is deployed with a legally binding contract, recognized both by the Indonesian government and the destination country. The contract clearly outlines the rights and obligations of the worker and the employing company.

2. Training and Certification

Prior to deployment, seafarers must undergo mandatory maritime training such as:

  • Basic Safety Training (BST)
  • Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF)
  • Survival Craft and Rescue Boat (SCRB)

These courses ensure the crew understands international safety standards and is prepared for emergencies at sea.

3. Insurance and Health Coverage

All seafarers deployed by PT RNT Utama Indonesia are provided with work insurance and health coverage, ensuring that they remain protected in the event of illness or workplace accidents.

4. Pre-Departure Briefing

Before departure, seafarers receive comprehensive orientation covering workers’ rights, legal procedures, cultural adaptation, and workplace ethics on multinational vessels. This also includes mental health tips for coping with long-term separation from family.

PT RNT Utama Indonesia works closely with multiple institutions to strengthen worker protection, including:

  • The Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) – for licensing and regulatory compliance.
  • BP2MI (Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency) – to ensure deployment meets national legal standards.
  • Fisheries worker associations – to monitor working conditions and crew welfare.

This tripartite collaboration (government, company, and workers’ associations) reflects PT RNT Utama Indonesia commitment to building a fair, transparent, and sustainable maritime ecosystem.

Mr. Riza Ghiyats Fakhri, President Director of PT RNT Utama Indonesia, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to legality and worker protection:

“We are not merely sending workers abroad. We make sure that every seafarer who departs under PT RNT Utama Indonesia is fully protected, both legally and in terms of welfare. Legality is the key foundation. Without official channels, the risks are simply too great. Therefore, we urge all prospective seafarers to always choose the legal pathway with PT RNT Utama Indonesia,” he stated.

By departing through PT RNT Utama Indonesia, seafarers gain not only safety but also long-term advantages:

  • Guaranteed wages, paid according to contract.
  • International-standard working conditions.
  • Career advancement opportunities, thanks to an official and verifiable employment record.
  • Legal certainty, in case of disputes on foreign vessels.

Many alumni of PT RNT Utama Indonesia have successfully advanced from entry-level crew to officer positions, and even to captains, supported by their clear legal record and professional reputation.

PT RNT Utama Indonesia also focuses on educating the public, particularly youth from coastal communities, about the dangers of illegal recruitment. The company actively conducts awareness programs on:

  • The importance of official documentation.
  • The dangers of illegal channels.
  • Workers’ rights that must be fulfilled by employing companies.

Through these initiatives, more prospective seafarers are becoming aware that choosing the legal pathway is not just an option—it is a necessity for their safety and future.

The commitment of PT RNT Utama Indonesia to ensuring the safety and legality of Indonesian seafarers on foreign vessels is proof of the company’s seriousness in building a healthy maritime ecosystem. With rigorous selection, certified training, legal contracts, and close cooperation with the government and associations, PT RNT guarantees that every seafarer it deploys is not only a worker but also a representative of Indonesia’s reputation abroad.

By maintaining this commitment, PT RNT Utama Indonesia continues to serve as a safe, legal, and professional bridge for Indonesian youth to pursue global maritime careers and secure a brighter future.

September 2025 marks another milestone for PT RNT Utama Indonesia, as the company successfully deployed 412 Indonesian seafarers to various international fishing vessels. This achievement is more than just a number; it represents the company’s strong commitment to preparing and sending Indonesian maritime workers through a legal, professional, and globally competitive pathway.

Indonesia, with its status as the largest archipelagic country in the world, has long been recognized as a vital supplier of maritime labor. However, challenges persist—particularly the risks of illegal recruitment, lack of protection for workers, and the need for more structured training.

As one of Indonesia’s trusted crew manning agencies, PT RNT Utama Indonesia continues to bridge local talent with the international maritime industry. The deployment of 412 seafarers in September is a reflection of the trust and confidence of global partners in the quality of Indonesian workers trained and facilitated by PT RNT Utama Indonesia.

Before boarding their assigned vessels, every seafarer underwent a comprehensive selection and preparation process:

  1. Administrative Screening
Verification of identity documents, seafarer’s book, passport, and academic qualifications.
  2. Medical and Psychological Tests
To ensure every candidate is physically healthy and mentally stable to face the challenges of working at sea.
  3. Certified Maritime Training
Including Basic Safety Training (BST), Advance Fire Fighting (AFF), and Survival Craft and Rescue Boat (SCRB) to equip seafarers with international-standard safety skills.
  4. Legal Documentation & Insurance
Completion of all mandatory documents and work visas, along with insurance coverage for added security.
  5. Pre-Departure Briefing
Final orientation covering workers’ rights, contracts, cultural adaptation, and safety guidelines aboard multinational vessels.

Through this process, PT RNT Utama Indonesia ensures that every seafarer deployed is fully prepared, protected, and professional.

The 412 deployed crew members will serve on several international fleets, including renowned vessels under the Fu Yuan Yu and Lu Rong Yuan Yu fleets. These vessels are among the largest in the global fishing industry, requiring skilled and resilient crew to operate in demanding ocean environments.

Deploying such a significant number of seafarers in a single month highlights PT RNT Utama Indonesia capacity to meet large-scale international demand while upholding quality standards.

The deployment was personally overseen by Mr. Riza Ghiyats Fakhri, President Director of PT RNT Utama Indonesia. In his statement, he emphasized the importance of professionalism and legality in overseas employment.

“The deployment of 412 seafarers in September shows the immense trust that our international partners place in Indonesian maritime workers. We make sure that every crew member is fully prepared—physically, mentally, and legally—before setting sail. Our hope is that they will work safely, improve their family’s livelihood, and bring pride to Indonesia on the global stage,” said Mr. Riza Ghiyats Fakhri.

The deployment of over 400 seafarers has significant ripple effects for Indonesia:

  • Reducing unemployment, particularly in coastal and rural regions.
  • Improving household income with higher wages compared to domestic jobs.
  • Knowledge transfer, as returning seafarers bring valuable international experience.
  • Local economic development, as many seafarers invest in small businesses after completing their contracts.

The stories of former PT RNT Utama Indonesia seafarers often highlight how overseas employment enables them to build homes, support children’s education, and create new opportunities in their hometowns.

Global fleets continue to seek Indonesian crew for several reasons:

  1. Strong maritime background – many grew up in fishing communities.
  2. High work ethic – hardworking, disciplined, and resilient.
  3. Cultural adaptability – friendly, cooperative, and easy to integrate in multinational crews.
  4. Cost efficiency with quality output, making them attractive for international employers.
  5. Global reputation as reliable, loyal, and skilled workers.

This deployment also aligns with the Indonesian government’s program to protect and promote Overseas Migrant Workers (PMI). PT RNT Utama Indonesia works closely with relevant institutions such as the Ministry of Manpower, BP2MI, and fisheries worker associations to ensure every deployment complies with legal frameworks and provides full protection for workers.

Such collaboration strengthens the maritime ecosystem and ensures that Indonesian seafarers remain competitive and respected globally.

With the successful deployment of 412 seafarers in just one month, PT RNT Utama Indonesia has proven its reliability as a leading manning agency. Moving forward, the company is committed to expanding partnerships with more international fleets while maintaining its focus on legal compliance, professional training, and worker protection.

The company envisions creating more opportunities for Indonesian youth, empowering them to build a sustainable career at sea and contribute to both their families and the nation’s economy.

Psychological Tests for Crew Members Before Training: An Important Foundation for Becoming a Professional Sailor

Psychological Tests for Crew Members Before Training: An Important Foundation for Becoming a Professional Sailor

Becoming a crew member (ABK) isn’t just about physical strength or technical skills, but also mental and psychological readiness. The world of work at sea is full of challenges: being away from family, working in extreme weather conditions, and living side by side with a multinational crew. Therefore, psychological testing is a crucial requirement before prospective crew members can participate in official training.

This article discusses the reasons why psychological testing is mandatory, the types of tests commonly administered, real-life examples of prospective crew members from PT RNT Utama Indonesia, and PT RNT Utama Indonesia’s role in ensuring that departing crew members are mentally prepared.

Why Are Psychological Tests Important for Crew Members?

Working on a ship requires a stable mental state. Some of the main reasons psychological tests are mandatory include :

1.  Assessing Mental Health

ABK must be free from serious psychological disorders that could endanger work safety at sea.

2. Measuring Mental Resilience

The pressures of working on a ship are different from those on land. Crew members must endure stress, loneliness, and long work schedules.

3. Determining Character Compatibility

The test helps to see whether the prospective ABK is suitable to work in a team, obey instructions, and is able to maintain discipline.

4. Prevent Future Problems

With screening from the start, companies and shipping partners will have more confidence because the crew sent have been mentally tested.

Real Examples of Psychological Test Participants at RNT

In recent recruitments, prospective crew members from PT RNT Utama Indonesia underwent psychological tests under the supervision of an official institution. Participants appeared enthusiastic, although some admitted to being nervous as it was their first time taking such a formal test.

  • Some came from Tegal, Brebes, and even Sulawesi, showing that opportunities are open to young people from various regions.
  • The test is conducted in a classroom with a duration of approximately 2–3 hours, including a written exam, interview, and concentration simulation.
  • Some participants even shared that they felt this test was very useful for getting to know themselves before actually diving into the sea.

“At first, I thought this test was just a formality. But after taking it, I realized the importance of mental preparation for working on a ship. I became more confident about continuing the training,” said one participant in the psychological test for prospective crew members at PT RNT Utama Indonesia.

With actual documentation of the test participants, the public can see that the crew selection process at PT RNT Utama Indonesia is truly transparent and professional.

Types of Psychological Tests Commonly Undertaken by Prospective ABK

Psychological tests for children with special needs usually cover the following aspects :

1. Basic Intelligence Test (IQ Test)

To measure the ability to think logically, understand instructions, and solve problems in work situations.

2. Personality Test

Assesses an individual’s character: whether they tend to be disciplined, cooperative, and able to control their emotions.

3. Stress Tolerance Test

A simulation or question that measures how a person reacts under stressful conditions, such as bad weather or conflict between crew members.

4. Accuracy & Concentration Test

Cruisers often face detailed, routine work. This test assesses the consistency of focus of prospective crew members over long periods of time.

5. Psychological Interview

A psychologist or examiner will conduct an interview to explore their life history, motivation, and readiness to work at sea.

The Relationship Between Psychological Tests and Special Needs Education and Training

After prospective ABK are declared to have passed the psychological test, they can proceed to official training programs such as:

  • Basic Safety Training (BST)

  • Survival Craft and Rescue Boat (SCRB)

  • Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF)

Psychological tests are the first step to ensure that training participants are truly ready, not only physically but also mentally.

The Role of PT RNT Utama Indonesia

As a trusted ABK placement company, PT RNT Utama Indonesia not only focuses on workforce placement, but also ensures that every crew member dispatched has gone through a valid psychological examination process.

Some steps taken by RNT :

  • Collaborate with professional psychology institutions.
  • Ensuring test results is one of the mandatory requirements before departure.
  • Provide additional counseling if the ABK candidate has certain records.

This step will increase international shipping partners’ confidence, knowing that Indonesian crew members are truly physically and mentally prepared for the job.

The psychological test before training is a crucial stage for prospective crew members. This test ensures that only healthy, stable, and mentally strong workers can proceed to the training and departure stages.

Through actual documentation of test participants at PT RNT Utama Indonesia, the public can see the company’s commitment to preparing crew members who are not only skilled but also mentally prepared to face the rigors of the ocean.

Demand for Crew Jobs Will Increase in 2025: PT RNT Utama Indonesia Continues to Open Opportunities to International Vessels

Demand for Crew Jobs Will Increase in 2025: PT RNT Utama Indonesia Continues to Open Opportunities to International Vessels

2025 is a year full of opportunities for aspiring crew members (ABK) looking to develop their careers in the international maritime sector. PT RNT Utama Indonesia, a leading company in the placement of workers on foreign fishing vessels, has released its latest job demand update for Chinese-flagged vessels for the period July to October 2025.

The high demand for Peruvian squid and trawl vessels demonstrates the continued growth of international partners’ trust in the quality of Indonesian crew members, particularly PT RNT Utama Indonesia. With a legal and professional training, documentation, and departure system, PT RNT Utama Indonesia is paving the way for young Indonesians to work safely and securely on foreign vessels.

Demand for Crew Members Increases Sharply from Chinese Vessels

According to the latest data, more than 20 vessels will depart from July to October 2025, with a total requirement of hundreds of crew members. This request is not only for novice ABK (non-experience), but also experienced personnel, even for technical positions such as Second Officer, Head of Fish Processing, and Assistant Chef.

Several vessels, such as the LU RONG YUANG YU 277, RUNDA 602, and FU YUAN YU 7895, are estimated to depart in late July to August 2025, while larger vessels like the HONGPU 1, JINHAI 728, and NINGTAI 78 will depart between August and early September.

Interestingly, vessels like the Trawl, scheduled to depart in October 2025, require up to 200 crew members at a time, consisting of 40 experienced and 160 inexperienced. This presents a significant opportunity for new crew members who lack experience but are ready to be trained and work hard.

Analysis of Crew Needs for 2025, From Small Vessels to Large Fleets

Two official infographics released by PT RNT Utama Indonesia show that demand is divided into two dominant vessel types:

1. Peruvian Squid Fishing Vessels

The majority of vessels on the list are Peruvian Squid Fishing Vessels flying the Chinese flag. This type of vessel requires highly physically fit crew due to the intensive workload on the high seas. These vessels operate in international waters and typically have 1-2 year contracts.

The need is divided between experienced and inexperienced crew. For example:

  • FU YUAN YU 7640: 1 EXP & 8 NON
  • NINGTAI 78: 6 EXP
  • HONGPU 779: 2 EXP & 6 NON

The main shortage noted is experienced crew, indicating that opportunities for senior crew are abundant this year.

2. Trawlers

Trawlers are emerging as part of a major project, scheduled to depart in October 2025. The XINRUN and another unnamed trawler offer significant opportunities due to the high demand for crew, including:

  • 29 EXP Crew
  • 15 local crew
  • Second Officer, Head of Fish Processing, and Assistant Chef

Trawlers generally have a more complex work system, targeting large catches and larger vessels. Job opportunities on these vessels are also more stable and have the potential for faster advancement.

PT RNT Utama Indonesia: A Legal, Professional, and Transparent Placement Process

PT RNT Utama Indonesia not only records job requests but also acts as a placement partner for crew members, carrying out the entire process legally, in a structured manner, and with a focus on professionalism.

PT RNT Utama Indonesia’s placement process includes:

  • Selection of prospective crew members
  • Pre-departure training, including Basic Safety Training (BST), Survival, and Operational Procedures
  • File preparation of legal documents, such as passports, seaman’s books, insurance, and work visas
  • Departure coordination with overseas partners
  • Initial post-departure support, including monitoring during the contract period

With this approach, PT RNT Utama Indonesia is trusted not only by overseas agencies but also by local communities, including youth organizations like GP Ansor, to channel local youth into professional crew members.

Crew Needs 2025: Anyone Can Start as Long as They’re Willing to Learn

One of the advantages of this demand data is that it opens up significant opportunities for novice/inexperienced crew members. Many ships accept crew members without previous seafaring experience, provided they:

  • Have completed basic training
  • Passed a health and mental health test
  • Have the motivation and commitment to work hard at sea

This opens up opportunities for young people from humble backgrounds to build careers from scratch. Within a few years, crew members with no experience can move up to senior positions, even technicians or ship foremen.

PT RNT as a Strategic Partner: Trusted by International Vessels

The high demand from Chinese-flagged vessels demonstrates the high level of trust placed in PT RNT Utama Indonesia by international partners. This is due to the company’s reputation for:

  • Providing work-ready and disciplined crew members
  • Maintaining good relationships with shipping agencies

When his ship docked at a Chinese port, there was a conflict between his friends and the other ship’s crew, until finally Bagas and his four friends were dropped off at the port. “Without any provisions and facing language barriers, they then accepted work in Cambodia as scammers. Their conditions there were very concerning,” he said.], considered not to be in accordance with the actual facts, where the actual facts are [The alleged case of human trafficking currently being experienced by Mr. Muhammad Bagas Saputra (22), a young man from Sukabumi City in Cambodia, has absolutely nothing to do with PT RNT Utama Indonesia]. In addition, this news also has the potential for other losses that will be experienced by the company, such as loss of time, energy and thoughts to face all questions and/or interviews and/or invitations from related parties who are interested in the matters in question].

Therefore, we intend to provide the following clarification :

1. That the alleged case of human trafficking which is currently being experienced by Mr. Muhammad Bagas Saputra (22) years old “MBS”, a young man from Sukabumi City in Cambodia, has absolutely nothing to do with PT RNT Utama Indonesia.

2. That it is true that Mr. MBS was once a Ship Crew member abroad and departed via PT RNT Utama Indonesia with an employment relationship status based on a Sea Work Agreement (PKL) with a work period (contract) of 1 (one) year starting from April 2024.

3. That Mr. MBS et al., (a total of 4 people, including MBS) their employment relationship has ended before the 1 (one) year work contract deadline was completed, due to problems on board the ship so that MBS et al., decided to return home before the contract period expired (broken contract) on June 26, 2024 and arrived in Indonesia on June 27, 2024 (proof of return plane tickets to Indonesia for Mr. MBS et al., is attached).

4. That all actions or activities carried out by ABK after the end of the employment relationship are completely outside the company’s responsibility.

5. That it is not true that Mr. MBS et al. worked as ABK through PT. RNT Utama Indonesia since April 1, 2025, because Mr. MBS et al. after returning on June 27, 2024 never went to the company PT. RNT Utama Indonesia to register again as ABK;

6. That it is not true that Mr. MBS et al. did not receive a salary for 3 (three) months working on the ship, because after returning to Indonesia on June 27, 2024, Mr. MBS et al. did not work anymore as ABK through the company PT. RNT Utama Indonesia;

7. That after the return of MBS et al. on June 27, 2024 to Indonesia, only 1 (one) ABK from the four groups returned to the company and registered again as ABK, namely Othniel Julio Manuputty (OJM), and currently OJM has finished his contract and is at his house in the Ambon area and there are no problems whatsoever regarding ABK salaries, etc.; (video attached)

8. That the salary rights of Mr. MBS et al. during their work as ABK through PT. RNT Utama Indonesia from April 2024 to July 27, 2024, PT RNT Utama Indonesia has been responsible and completed, including the responsibility to repatriate Mr. MBS from abroad to Indonesia.

9. That after the news of Brother MBS’s case went viral, the Representative of PT RNT Utama Indonesia conducted a clarification by visiting Brother MBS’s family’s residence in Sukabumi City, West Java on July 6, 2025, which was facilitated by the Management of the Indonesian Fisheries Workers Association (AP21) and the Management of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union (SBMI) Sukabumi to meet with the family, represented by MBS’s older brother, namely Brother Muhammad Rangga Saputra “MBS” with the following meeting results:

  • a. That the MBS family stated that around June 27, 2024, MBS returned home accompanied by OJM who at that time went to MBS’s house, so that after MBS arrived in Indonesia, there was no working relationship between MBS et al and the company PT. RNT Utama Indonesia;
  • b. That after MBS’s return on June 27, 2024, MBS said goodbye again to work abroad and the family gave permission to MBS, but the departure was not through PT. RNT Utama Indonesia, from the information that MBS’s family left for Cambodia via another route that was not clearly known by the family;
  • c. That of the 4 (four) ABK who returned with MBS, only OJM returned to the company PT. RNT Utama Indonesia and registered again as an ABK at the company and currently OJM has finished his contract and is at his home in the Ambon area.
  • d. The MBS family regrets the media that published a photo of MBS wearing a uniform or attributes of PT. RNT Utama Indonesia without permission or confirmation from the family or company, thus creating a strange impression in the community;
  • e. The family of MBS understands that MBS’s departure abroad or to Cambodia after his return from abroad on June 27, 2024 did not go through PT. RNT Utama Indonesia so that MBS’s presence in Cambodia has nothing to do with PT. RNT Utama Indonesia, the family and PT. RNT Utama Indonesia have established good communication and agreed to resolve this problem peacefully within the family without taking legal action, and not sue each other;

We hope that you can include this right of reply in your media as widely as possible, to provide balanced information to the public. We also attach supporting evidence for consideration.

We thank you for your attention and cooperation, sir/madam/sir.

PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA Successfully Sends 253 Crew Abroad in June 2025

PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA Successfully Sends 253 Crew Abroad in June 2025

Increase Commitment to Realizing Decent Work and Empowering Indonesian Maritime Human Resources

Tegal, June 2025 – PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA has once again demonstrated its commitment to expanding employment opportunities in the international capture fisheries sector. Throughout June 2025, the company successfully dispatched 253 Crew Members (ABK) to work on various fishing vessels operating overseas, particularly in the waters of Taiwan, South Korea, Fiji, and the Indian Ocean.

This achievement is not just a number, but a reflection of the hard work and synergy of various parties, starting from company management, operational teams, to support from training partners and related agencies. In one full month, PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA managed the entire process of recruitment, training, certification, departure to monitoring the presence of the ship’s crew responsibly and in a structured manner.

Departure with Professional and Humanistic Principles

With the success of sending 253 crew members, PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA has shown that the company’s management system and procedures are running well and efficiently. Not only focusing on quantity, the company also ensures the quality of the human resources sent. The crew members have gone through a strict selection process, provision, and training according to international standards. The entire process is carried out by prioritizing the values of professionalism, transparency, and siding with Indonesian maritime workers.

Director of Placement of PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA, Dian Nafilatul Maulidah, said that this achievement is part of the company’s long-term commitment to strengthen Indonesia’s role as a country that provides reliable, skilled, and dignified maritime workers.

“We are not only sending workers, we are sending hopes, futures, and livelihoods of families throughout Indonesia,” said Dian.

Destination Countries: Growing Global Market

The destination countries for the crew departing in June 2025 include Taiwan, South Korea, and Fiji. These countries are Indonesia’s strategic partners in the capture fisheries sector. In its operations, PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA always maintains good relations and establishes active communication with shipowners, partner agencies abroad, and international labor authorities.

Each crew departure is adjusted to the type of vessel and appropriate fishing gear, such as tuna longline vessels, squid jigger vessels, and trawl vessels. All crew members are equipped with technical understanding of work, ethics on board, and basic learning of the culture of the destination country.

Focus on the Welfare and Protection of the crew

In addition to the technical aspects, PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA also pays great attention to the protection and welfare of the crew. All crew members who are sent are ensured to have complete documents, transparent official work contracts, as well as social security and work insurance. In addition, the company also forms an active monitoring and complaint system, so that crew members can report if they encounter obstacles while working on the ship.

In the period of June, the company also continued to strengthen cooperation with training institutions such as SUPM Tegal and other job training centers. This is done to ensure that the workforce sent not only meets the quota, but also has the competence and character to compete globally.

Real Contribution to the Region and Crew Families

As a manning agency company based in Tegal, PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA has become an important part of regional economic development. Every month, hundreds of families in the Tegal area and its surroundings receive direct economic benefits from the salaries of crew members sent from abroad.

In addition, the company also supports the reduction of unemployment rates and creates a positive social impact, especially for the younger generation who want to seek work opportunities abroad legally and with dignity.

Many of the crew members who were successfully dispatched in June came from various regions in Indonesia such as Central Java, East Java, NTB, and South Sulawesi. By opening up this opportunity fairly and openly, PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA has succeeded in becoming a bridge between the potential of local workers and the needs of the global fisheries industry.

Future Plans: More Structured, More Massive

The success of sending 253 crew members in June is a benchmark that the work system and partnership network of PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA are on the right track. However, the company is not complacent. In the future, PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA will continue to develop a digital recruitment system, expand cooperation with local governments, and strengthen competency-based training programs.

In July and August, the company has prepared a quota of more than 400 crew members to be sent. This target will be achieved with a more mature strategy, including the involvement of communities and youth organizations such as GP Ansor in the process of disseminating information and education on overseas employment.

The departure of 253 crew members in June 2025 is not only an operational achievement, but also a form of social responsibility from PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA. As a company that continues to grow and adapt, RNT remains committed to its core values of sending crew members with heart, protecting them with a sense of responsibility, and devoting themselves to the welfare of their families in their homeland.

PT RNT UTAMA INDONESIA believes that the nation’s children deserve a chance to work in the global arena, with guaranteed protection, self-esteem, and a bright future.

Synergy of GP Ansor & PT RNT Utama Indonesia: Opening the Doors of the World for Tegal Youth to Become Professional ABK

Synergy of GP Ansor & PT RNT Utama Indonesia: Opening the Doors of the World for Tegal Youth to Become Professional ABK

In a real effort to support workforce absorption and open wider international job opportunities for local youth, PT RNT Utama Indonesia has established a strategic partnership with the GP Ansor Tegal Regency Branch Leadership (PC). This collaboration is not just a form of ordinary partnership, but a visionary synergy between youth organizations and national private companies that have been proven to encourage youth empowerment through the international maritime sector.

GP Ansor: Strong Cadre Base, Ready to Produce Quality ABK

As the largest youth organization affiliated with Nahdlatul Ulama, GP Ansor has a strong and solid network of cadres down to the village level. In Tegal Regency, the existence of GP Ansor is the backbone of the young generation’s movement in various fields, from socio-religious to economic empowerment.

Through this collaboration, GP Ansor is at the forefront of recruiting and developing local youth who have great potential but often have not been touched by access to decent jobs. Ansor cadres spread across remote villages will assist in the identification process of potential ABK candidates, provide mental-spiritual training, and ensure that they are ready to undergo professional training to work on international fishing vessels.

This step not only opens up employment opportunities, but also becomes a medium for social transformation, where local youth who previously had no direction now have hope and a path to a brighter future.

“We welcome this partnership because it is in line with Ansor’s vision in creating independent and competitive youth. Becoming an ABK is a noble path as long as it is carried out legally and professionally,” said one of the administrators of PC GP Ansor Tegal Regency.

PT RNT Utama Indonesia: Legal and Professional Bridge to the International Sea

On the other hand, PT RNT Utama Indonesia is present as a strategic partner that not only distributes workers, but also guarantees the quality, legality, and sustainability of the ABK’s career. This company has been trusted by various overseas partners and agencies from countries such as Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Fiji, to provide trained and work-ready maritime workers.

With long experience in ABK placement, PT RNT Utama Indonesia runs a very systematic process: starting from recruitment, basic marine safety training (BST), legal document management, to departure and assistance after arriving in the destination country. All are carried out in accordance with government regulations and international provisions, so that ABK receive legal protection and guaranteed work rights.

“This synergy is a real step to create targeted employment for Tegal youth. We want them to not only get jobs, but also a better future through international sea routes,” said Samsul Arifin, Operational Director of PT RNT Utama Indonesia.

PT RNT Utama Indonesia Advantages: Trusted by Many Partners Because of Its Commitment to Building Quality

One of the reasons why PT RNT Utama Indonesia is the main choice for various foreign agencies is because of its commitment to consistently building the quality of human resources. PT RNT Utama Indonesia does not just accept prospective ABK from one or two sources, but actively establishes partnerships with many parties including youth organizations, Islamic boarding schools, BLK (Job Training Centers), and other training institutions.

This means that PT RNT Utama Indonesia does not passively wait for workers, but rather proactively seeks, fosters, and filters the best ABK candidates from all over Indonesia, especially from areas with great potential such as Tegal, Brebes, Pemalang, and the surrounding areas.

This is what makes many overseas shipping agencies feel more confident in PT RNT Utama Indonesia  than other companies, because they know that the crew they send have truly gone through a professional and comprehensive selection, coaching and training process.

Responding to Regional Socio-Economic Challenges

The partnership between GP Ansor and PT RNT Utama Indonesia is also expected to provide significant socio-economic impacts. Tegal and its surrounding areas are areas with a high number of working-age youth, but many of them face limited access to information, formal education, and quality job opportunities.

With this program, young people have a legal opportunity to work abroad with a much higher income than local jobs, while also gaining international work experience that will be invaluable for their future.

In fact, there are quite a few ABK alumni who, after completing their contract period, are able to open independent businesses in their hometowns, buy houses, or finance their families’ education a circle of positive impacts that is worthy of appreciation.

Commitment to the Placement and Protection of Migrant Crew

In addition to the economic empowerment aspect, this partnership is also a form of real support for government programs in the field of placement and protection of Indonesian migrant workers (TKI). PT RNT Utama Indonesia ensures that all processes are carried out in accordance with applicable provisions: starting from Law No. 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, to regulations from the Ministry of Manpower and the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI).

With an approach that prioritizes legality, transparency, and professionalism, PT RNT Utama Indonesia hopes to become a long-term trusted partner for both government agencies, community organizations, and foreign agencies.

Call for Collaboration: Time for Synergy for a Stronger Indonesia

Through extensive experience and networks, PT RNT Utama Indonesia is open to collaborating with organizations, educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools, and other youth communities throughout Indonesia. If GP Ansor Tegal Regency can be a strategic partner, then similar potential can also be built in many other areas.

For youth organizations and social institutions, this partnership can be a concrete way to foster and channel its members to legal, targeted, and sustainable employment paths. Meanwhile, for international partners, PT RNT Utama Indonesia is a reliable, professional, and highly integrated maritime workforce solution provider.
